Gisla Augustin is a two-time alumna of Florida Atlantic University having obtained a bachelors in Urban Design and a masters in Urban and Regional Planning. She is the Founder/CEO of GiGi the Planner, a business that is dedicated to increasing the number of black planners

through workshops for youth and career coaching provided to planning students and recent college grads. Through her platform she also seeks to engage planners, planning students and others on social media.

 

Recently she decided to launch a podcast called the Urban Planner’s Podcast to shed light on the field and talk about all things urban planning. She also works as planner for the City of Pompano Beach, FL. In her free time, she sits as the Chair of her local Planning and Zoning Board and most recently began serving as the Chair-elect of the Planning and the Black Community Division of the American Planning Association. She is also on the Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Committee of the Florida Planning Chapter. Gisla has many accomplishments but one of the most notable was being deemed one of the 100 most outstanding women in the history of FAU.
